Know your SBI Contactless Debit Card:
- Your Name: Please ensure that your name appears correctly on the Card and advise your Branch for any corrections if necessary
- Card Number: Distinct 16-digit Card number
- Valid Through: Last day of the month and year up to which the Card is valid
- EMV CHIP: EMV Chip contains encoded financial information
- NFC Sign: This sign on the face of the Card is for NFC i.e., it is a Contactless Card. Look for the ))) “symbol on the payment terminal of the merchant and tap your Card for payments
- Signature Panel: The signature panel on which you sign as soon as you receive your Card
- CVC (Card Verification Code)/CVD (Card Verification Digit)/CVV (Card Verification Value): A 3-digit code on the reverse side of your Card is a security feature for Card Not Present (CNP) transactions i.e., online transactions
Card Limit
SBI Contactless Debit Card offers you higher daily limits on cash withdrawals, purchases and acceptance at more than four million locations and over one million ATMs worldwide. Maximum daily domestic limits of different Debit Card variants are as under:

You can pay for purchases directly either at shopping locations or online. Contactless cards work on the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology and are secured with EMV contactless standard.

Usage for International Transactions:
Subject to availability of functionality for international transactions, you can use your SBI Contactless Debit Card overseas for purchases directly at shopping outlets, restaurants & for withdrawing cash at ATMs. You can use your Debit Card at over 30 million merchants’ establishments & over 1 million ATMs worldwide. Please note that card will be supplied with international transactions functionality in disabled status. In case of need you can enable the same from the available channels. Please refer to Welcome Letter for enabling/disabling international transactions on your card. Please keep the usages for international transactions in disabled status when not required.
Please note that transactions on International E-Commerce merchant’s site can be performed without second factor of authentications, i.e., transactions can be performed without OTP validation. Similarly, POS transactions at foreign locations can be performed without PIN validation. As such due care must be taken in performing international usages and international usage to be kept in disabled status after performing international transactions.
Please note that this Card is not valid for making payments in foreign exchange in Nepal & Bhutan.
Important points for International transactions:
- For performing international (ATM, POS/e-Commerce) transaction using SBI Debit Card, please update PAN details in Bank Account.
Offline Wallet Components (NCMC feature):
The following transactions can be performed via Offline Wallet:
- Offline Wallet Activation
- Add Money
- Service Creation
- Balance Enquiry
- Balance Update
- Card Block (Card Lost/Stolen)
- Card closure/damage/replacement
1. Offline Wallet Activation: Offline Wallet is in inactive mode when received by customer. Customer has to activate the Offline Wallet by visiting transit operator’s terminal (metro, bus terminal etc.) and performing either of the transactions, i.e. Add Money & Service Creation. Before that please ensure that Contactless Features (NFC) on the card has been enabled.
2. Add Money: Customer can Add Money on the card either by depositing cash or with the same Contactless Debit card at the designated terminals located at Metro stations/Bus stations etc.
3. Service Creation: Request for creation of services should be placed by customer by taking the card to the designated terminal of transit operator and request to be made with them for desired service. Service Area Creation refers to merchant specific services such as monthly Metro pass. (After activation of the Offline Wallet of the card, by completing the above step, customer is free to Add Money from bank’s E-CHANNELS.)
4. Balance (Offline Wallet) Enquiry: POS terminals of designated Transport Operators will display the balance of Offline wallet. Similarly, after Offline wallet transactions, wherever a receipt is generated it will provide the latest balance of the offline wallet.
5. Balance Update: When a customer performs an Add Money transaction through bank’s E-CHANNELS, he / she must mandatorily perform Balance Update transaction at the designated Transport Operator/Terminal. Terminal operator will double tap the card on the device for updating the same.
6. Offline Wallet blocking/hot listing: Offline transactions cannot be blocked due to product design. Offline wallet balance cannot be blocked and is liable for misuse if lost/misplaced/stolen. The bank will not bear any liability for the residual balance on the wallet if the card is lost and misused.
7. Card closure/damage/replacement: The refund of the card (Offline Balance) may be processed after the cooling period prescribed by the card network.
8. Card expiry: The expiry date of the card is printed on the card itself. In case expiry is encountered by customer, the card will cease functioning and all services of the card will also expire. In case of re-issuance of card, the customer would have to get the service areas written on the new card by operators/merchants.
How does a Contactless Debit Card work?
- Spot the contactless icon ))) (a symbol bearing close resemblance to a Wi-Fi Icon), on your SBI Contactless Debit Card. The presence of this icon on your card enables your card for a contactless transaction.
- All you need is to tap your card on the POS machine once the person at the billing counter puts the required amount.
- A successful transaction is confirmed by a beep that is followed by a receipt and an SMS notification on your mobile phone.
- Transaction up to Rs 5,000.00 is eligible for the SBI Contactless Debit Card transaction. The contactless mode of payment doesn’t require you to share your ATM Pin and in case you tap the POS machine twice, the amount deducted will remain the same.

How does the Contactless Debit Card Work at Merchant Establishments?
Enjoy the convenience of using your SBI Contactless Debit Card for purchases in India. The typical purchase transaction process flow is as under:
- Present your Card to the merchant.
- The merchant will insert your Card in his/her EDC (Card acceptance) terminal. The Card need not be swiped. The Card remains inserted in the terminal throughout the transaction.
- In India, the terminal will prompt you to enter the PIN.
- Please enter your PIN (same as the one used at ATMs). Please ensure you cover the terminal while entering the PIN.
- Sign on the charge slip (if required) only after confirming the amount and details on the slip with the bill.
- The transaction is now complete. You will be handed over a copy of the charge slip and your Card by the Merchant.
How to use SBI Contactless Debit Card for Cash withdrawals from ATMs?
Enjoy the convenience of using your SBI Contactless Debit Card for withdrawing cash from SBI ATMs or other ATMs in India and worldwide. The typical cash withdrawal transaction process flow is as under:
- Please insert your Card in the slot provided.
- Select language (if the language selection option is available)
- Enter your PIN. Please take care to key in the correct PIN. If the wrong PIN is entered thrice, the card will be disabled or deactivated for the rest of the day.
- Select your transaction. At this stage, options will appear on the screen, and you can choose the appropriate option amongst Fast Cash, Cash Withdrawal, PIN Change, Mini Statement, etc.
- In case of Cash Withdrawal, enter the amount you wish to withdraw.
- You will receive cash after the transaction is processed.
How to use SBI Contactless Debit Card for Online Purchases?
Your SBI Contactless Debit Card can be used online for shopping. booking railway or air tickets, paying bills or for enjoying movies with your family. All this is just a few clicks away at your convenience. The typical online purchase transaction process flow is as under:
- Go to your preferred website.
- After selecting the goods and services desired, or bills you wish to pay, go to the payment page.
- Enter your Card details i.e., Card number, expiry date, etc.
- Enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.
- On confirmation, the transaction is now complete.

E-Mandate:
E-Mandate (also referred to as Standing Instruction) on SBI Debit Card can currently be registered by customers in the following ways:
- Standing Instruction registered at merchant website/app e.g., Sl set at Telecom service providers, OTT platforms, Insurance partners and other Utility Service providers like Electricity, Gas, Water, etc.
View/Modify/Cancel the E-Mandate:

Tokenised Payments:
Tokenisation provides an additional layer of security by encrypting the card details and will help enhance consumer confidence in using digital modes of payments. It is the process of substituting a 16-digit customer card number with a non-sensitive equivalent value, referred to as a token. This essentially means that a customer’s information will no longer be available on any Merchant Payment Gateway, or 3rd party that helps in the processing of digital transactions today.
Cardholders can view the list of merchants with whom they have saved the cards in a tokenised manner and delete any such token through SBI Quick. Tokens can also be deleted from merchand thebsite/Application by accessing also be deleted fromation site/App.
Taking Care of your SBI Contactless Debit Card:
- Your Card is very important and must be kept safely.
- After receipt of your Card, please sign on the signature panel immediately on the reverse of your Card.
- Store your Card in a secure place where you will immediately know if it is missing.
- The black magnetic stripe on the reverse of your Card and EMV Chip contains financial information and needs special handling. Do not keep your Card in an area where it will be exposed to a continuous magnetic field.
- Please ensure that your Card is used at merchant locations in your presence only.
- Never leave your Card unattended, e.g., in your car, in a hotel room or at work.
- Please handle your Card carefully to avoid any physical damage to magnetic stripe and EMV chip.
- Always keep track of your Card’s transactions by using the account statement.
- Always notify your Home Branch, in writing, if there are any changes in your employment and/or residential address, telephone numbers and mobile number.
Lost/Stolen Card Reporting:
Please keep a separate note of Card number and associated account number in a place readily accessible. Immediately block the Card if it is lost, misplaced, or stolen. Blocking of Card will safeguard cardholder from any misuse of Card for online transaction. Card may be blocked using any one of the following modes. However Offline transactions cannot be blocked due to product design.
Through SBI Contact Centre (1800 2100 / 1800 1234 / 1800 112211/1800425 3800 / +9180-26599990): The Contact Centre will ask for certain information about the Cardholder before blocking the Card to ensure that it is not used fraudulently by any person.
Through YONO App: Post login Service Request→ Block ATM/Debit Card. Follow the menu options to complete blocking of your Card.
Through YONO Lite Mobile Applications: Card can be blocked using the menu “Debit Card Hot listing” under ‘Services’ available under post login page and be guided by options on the screen. Alternatively, Card can be blocked using option “Card Blocking on the pre-login. screen.
Through Internet Banking: Card can be blocked if the Card Holder is an internet banking user. The functionality is available at post login e-services ATM Card Services Block ATM Card. Follow the menu options to complete blocking of your Card.
Through SMS: By sending SMS “BLOCK
Through SBI Branch: Please visit any nearest SBI Branch with a written request to block your lost or stolen Card.
Offline Wallet Blocking/Hot Listing: As stated earlier, Offline wallet balance cannot be blocked and is liable for misuse if lost/misplaced/stolen. Bank will not bear any liability for the residual balance on the wallet if card is lost and misused

Insurance Benefits on SBI Debit Cards:
The Cardholder may be offered various complimentary insurance benefits from time to time by Bank through a tie-up with an insurance company. The Cardholder specifically acknowledges that he shall not hold Bank responsible for any matter arising out of or in conjunction with such insurance cover, whether for or in respect of any deficiency or defect in such insurance cover, recovery or payment of compensation, processing, or settlement of claims or otherwise howsoever, and all such matters shall be addressed to and sorted out directly with the insurance company. The insurance company will be solely liable for settlement of the claim. Further, the Cardholder also agrees that Bank may at any time (in its sole discretion and without giving any notice thereof to the Cardholder or assigning any reason thereof) suspend, withdraw, or cancel the benefit of such insurance cover, and there will be no binding obligation on Bank to continue this benefit. The complimentary insurance benefit is not available on all the Card variants. Only select premium variants of the Cards are offered complimentary insurance benefits by the Bank. How to Manage SBI Contactless Debit Card Usage?
- Setting Usage Limit: Your Card comes with a pre-set limit for purchase transactions (i.e., at merchant establishments or online) and for cash withdrawal limits at ATMs. Bank is providing you the option for setting your channel wise (i.e., for usage at ATMs, merchant establishments and online) usage limit (Only below the pre-set limit is allowed) through Retail Internet Banking, YONO App, ATM, IVR and YONO Lite.
- Disabling/Enabling Channel: Your Card when received can be used at any channel (i.e., for usage at ATMs, merchant establishments and online). However, Bank is providing you the option for disabling/enabling channel (i.e., for usage at ATMS, merchant establishments and online) of usage based on your requirement through Retail Internet Banking, YONO App, YONO Lite, ATM, and IVR.
- Disabling/Enabling usage mode: Your card can be used for Domestic PoS and ATM transactions. However, Bank is providing you the option for disabling/enabling use mode (i.e., Domestic, or International) based on your requirement through Retail Internet Banking, YÓNO App, ATM, IVR and YONO Lite.

- YONO Lite App.: (Post Login) Services → Manage Debit Card Select Debit Card No. and follow menu options for availing desired features.

The above facilities can also be availed by giving a written request at any nearest SBI branch with service charge.
Security tips for Debit Card holders
- Beware of your surroundings while performing ATM transactions on ATM machines or on POS devices. Cover the keypad while entering the PIN so that no one sees it.
- Change your Debit Card PIN periodically. Do not write your PIN anywhere, memorise it.Do not share your Debit Card PIN number with anyone.
- Do not handover your Debit Card to anyone.
- Do not submit your Debit Card details and PIN on untrusted website (s).
- Always verify the authenticity of e-commerce websites before performing the transactions.
- Manage your Debit Card transactions through onlineBanking. Set a limit for card transactions at e-commerce platforms, POS and ATM both for domestic and international transactions.
- Enable SMS alert on your account to get regular updates. Check your account statement after performing the transactions.
- Do not respond to fraudulent calls or phishing SMSs/emails asking for you card details and PIN.Do not respond to SMS/email asking you to update KYC or unblock debit card by clicking on the embedded link.
- Block your ATM card immediately if any fraudulent transaction happened without you performing it.
